Responsibilities

Senior Backend Developer and technical lead on the EDI Fulfillment and order processing team. Owned several microservices end to end - architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support - working in a distributed Scrum team alongside product, QA and DevOps. Key accomplishments: - Redesigned the document processing pipeline to handle peak retail-season volumes without degradation. - Extracted services from a legacy monolith, enabling independent releases. - Built event-driven integration across order, shipment and invoice flows with Kafka, replacing brittle synchronous calls. - Migrated services to a modern Java runtime and automated the delivery pipeline with Gradle, Docker and Kubernetes. - Established a testing culture based on JUnit 5, Spock and Testcontainers, and introduced code review standards and ADRs.

About the Project

EvoPlay is an international B2B provider of integrated products for the online gaming industry, supplying platform technology to operators worldwide rather than running consumer-facing brands. Scope: a modular ecosystem for launching and operating online gaming businesses. Core components include a gaming platform and back office for player account management, a multi-platform CMS, a game aggregation layer, and a billing system handling deposits, withdrawals and transfers with anti-fraud controls, plus affiliate and partner programmes, bonus engines, CRM and retention tools, and BI reporting. Functionality: player onboarding and KYC, wallet and transaction processing, payment provider integrations, game content integration, risk monitoring, and per-brand configuration across currencies, languages and jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

Acted a Senior Backend Developer and technical lead on the gaming platform team, owning core services end to end architecture, implementation, testing, release and production support - in a distributed team with product, QA and DevOps. Key accomplishments: - Built high-load services for player accounts, wallet and transaction processing that hold up under peak traffic. - Extracted core domains from a legacy monolith into independently deployable microservices. Introduced Kafka-based event-driven integration across wallet, bonus and reporting flows, replacing fragile synchronous calls. - Integrated payment providers and game content suppliers behind a unified internal API. - Strengthened idempotency, reconciliation and anti-fraud checks in financial flows. - Modernised the Java runtime and automated CI/CD with Gradle, Docker and Kubernetes. - Mentored engineers and established code review and ADR practice.

About the Project

Bright Power is a New York–based energy and water management company founded in 2004, serving owners, investors and operators of real estate, with a strong focus on multifamily and affordable housing. The project was a SaaS analytics platform (EnergyScoreCards) combined with hands-on engineering services. The software benchmarks utility data across portfolios, ingests bills and metered readings, detects anomalies and waste, forecasts carbon compliance risk, models retrofit scenarios, and tracks measurement and verification after projects are delivered. Services cover energy audits, solar, submetering, procurement and construction management of retrofits.

Responsibilities

- Built ingestion pipelines for utility bills, submeter and sensor readings, normalising heterogeneous formats from many utility providers into a single data model; - Developed the benchmarking and analytics services behind portfolio-level reporting and anomaly detection; - Implemented carbon compliance and retrofit scenario calculations used by clients for capital planning; - Split monolithic components into independently deployable services and introduced event-driven processing with Kafka; - Optimised queries over large time-series datasets and automated delivery with Docker and Kubernetes; - Established testing standards and mentored engineers.
