Alex Korniienko

I'm the co-founder and CTO of Cortance, where I lead the technical side of the business: the platform itself, integrations (AI included), and making sure everything stays stable and secure. I also do Fractional CTO work for a number of clients and help them put together technical teams that actually fit what they're building.

My path into IT started early. I was still in my second year of Computer Science at Lviv Polytechnic when I joined a small IT company as its third employee, right after the two technical co-founders. Things moved fast from there, mostly because coding came easily to me and I genuinely enjoyed it. As I picked up more experience, I found myself mentoring new hires and taking on more operational work without really planning to.

Eventually that turned into a CTO role, but I never wanted it to be only about mentoring, reviewing code, or sitting in on presales calls. I wanted to keep coding too, so for a long time I combined the CTO title with hands-on development, and that's how I ended up working on some genuinely complex projects across fintech, travel, healthcare, and banking. That's more than ten years of hands-on experience by now.

That's also where I met Yevhen, who's now my co-founder at Cortance. We came up at the same company on different tracks, me in engineering, him in sales and business development. In 2023, we decided to build something together.

Outside of work, I box, play football, and fish.
