Casetext Project — AI-Powered Legal Document Search & Summarization Platform Worked as a backend engineer on a project aimed at enhancing legal research through AI-driven search, retrieval, and summarization. The goal was to prototype and validate an intelligent system capable of understanding complex legal texts and delivering accurate, context-aware answers to user queries.

• Collaborated with the team to design and implement a Proof of Concept (PoC) showcasing legal document search and summarization capabilities. • Validated technical feasibility of integrating retrieval and generative AI workflows. • Designed, built, and maintained backend services to support search, retrieval, and AI-powered features. • Developed and optimized APIs to connect the frontend with legal data sources and AI models. • Created pipelines to ingest, clean, and preprocess legal texts at scale. • Implemented metadata extraction, text chunking, and embeddings generation for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). • Developed retrieval components using vector databases or search indices (e.g., ElasticSearch, Pinecone, FAISS).

The project focused on improving usability, stability, and performance of existing features while ensuring alignment with organizational workflows.
