Vitest is faster than Jest in most modern frontend setups, mainly because it shares Vite's transform pipeline instead of running everything through Babel or ts-jest first. The difference shows up most in watch mode: Vitest reruns only the tests affected by a changed file using Vite's existing module graph, while Jest has to re-resolve more of the dependency tree on its own.
